Under 12 Boys – 4 Games in a week.

It was a very hectic week for the under 12’s as we welcomed no less than four clubs up to Roundwood.

We started with a league game against Blessington on Monday 21st, a game which unfortunately seen two very uneven 12 aside games. On pitch 1 Blessington were well on top while our boys completely dominated on pitch 2. But in the end overall; Blessington came out on top with 3 goals to spare.

On Friday 25th we played Newtown in a 13 aside game on pitch 1 and Laragh in an 8 a side game on pitch 2. And on Monday 28th we played Enniskerry in another 13 aside match. They proved to be three very worthwhile exercises with the lads getting 3 good victories but more importantly all the lads getting plenty of game time.

At this stage in the season all the mentors are extremely happy with the with how the whole squad is developing, it can be difficult at times as children have different levels of ability but the attitude shown both during training and during matches by all this group of young men has been excellent. The benefit of the training and the matches is there for all to see especially with the younger players in their first year at this age group.

The under 12 squad are off to their two week  mid-season training camp in Malaga (Thanks to Nick for approving the funding !!!) to help them acclimatise to the  forth coming Indian summer, so we’ve no matches for the next few weeks.

The under 12 team would also like to wish a fond farewell to Caleb Brady, who’ll be back home in Japan before our next match. Caleb has been a great addition to the squad over the last few week and will be missed by all the lads. Hopefully he’ll be back again next summer.
