The girls match this week saw them take on St. Pats. In the first half our girls played fantastic with Alannah Langrell scoring a goal within the first 2 minutes, Alannah’s kicking and ability to score goals is brilliant and her size is so deceiving to the other teams. Eve Leacy also has great ability being able to score with her strong and precise kicking combined with Jessica Kennedys intelligent play they have a great trio up front.
Kelly McHugh was in goals, her and our back line had a very easy job this half with all the play up the other end. Our ladies played great having all the possession and working really well as a team. Layla, Aimee and Aoife never stopped working in midfield, Erin and the 2 Ruths worked tirelessly up and down the wings sending balls into Jessica, Eve and Alannah.
The second half saw the girls from Wicklow reform and they came out strong using new legs but our girls in blue stayed strong with Sorcha Cronin in goal working really hard and our girls played on. Great work from Sinead in the backs getting the ball up the field supported by the other Sinead, Sophie and Ciara.
The game ended with a very tired and happy An Tochar side with a score of 4-7 to 2-2.
Well done girls a great job with loads of team effort.
