Last week saw our u12 girls travel to Arklow for their next league game. An Tochar came away with a fantastic result with great effort and commitment put in by each girl. Arklow found it difficult to break get through the half back line of Kelly McHugh and Amy Mc Manus who slowed down Arklow’s attacks. With solid defending by Sinead Brady, Sophie Devlin and Lauren Heatly, An Tochar managed to keep Arklow down to 2 points. With outstanding performances in mid field by Ruth Ireland, Aoife Stacey and Eve Leacy, Arklow were kept busy. Layla Stacey opened up the scoreboard with a quick succession of points followed by a super goal by Eve leacy. An Tochar showed great courage and battled for scores up front with an excellent point from Ruth Nolan adding to the scores. Allanah langrell narrowly missing a goal after great running, receiving accurate passes from Sinead Doyle and Caitlin Launders battling for possession. Ruby Cantwell made great tackles putting a stop to numerous Arklow attacks. Maria O Gorman took a fantastic point on her first night back to the game after injury. Our super sub Erin Brady on arrival on the pitch done great defending sending the ball back up the pitch with her powerful kick. Sorcha Cronin putting in crucial tackles and sending in brilliant passes to Maria and Sinead to attack Arklows defence.

Finally the girls would like to send huge best wishes and congratulations to Allanah Langrell who is heading off to London this weekend to compete in the World Irish Dancing Championships.
