Carnew vs An Tóchar

The girls first match of the season saw them travel the long journey to Carnew.
It was the first time for many of them coming up from U10s to play a full match on such a big pitch, they were very nervous and missing some of the teams key players but they battled hard against a
strong, large and noisy Carnew side. The first half, playing up a hill was a struggle and
unfortunately at half time the score difference was wide. But coach Aileen Lacy and husband
Paul gave the girls a stern but encouraging talk and they came on in the second half a stronger
team scoring goals and points and really moving the ball around the pitch. With encouragement from sideline parents they clawed back at the score but were unable to win the match. But with some extra training Tuesdays 6.30 to 7.30 for the next few weeks we are sure to see a great little team emerging.
