U14 Boys
For our U-14 team it had been nearly two months since our last league match however the two remaining games left to play were certainly our two toughest games and both away in the space of three days. First up (on Monday the 29th) was Knockananna who knew they were unlucky not to beat us earlier in the league and also a win on the night would put them in a commanding position to win the competition outright, it was all to play for! The second half was a display that will be hard to match (by any of our teams in the club), a hard shift was more than required, a fantastic performance gave a score line of 3-15 v 1-04 in our favour. On Wednesday (the 31st) we travelled the short distance to Kilcoole to play our last fixture on paper in the league. Before the game the lads gathered around, John Kavanagh, their captain for the campaign, as he rallied his troops for the last match, knowing that the win and the securing of top position was in sight! The work rate and fitness showed as every player wanted the ball and outran his marker, to end up giving us the winning scoreline (3-11 v 0-07) that we had set out to achieve. Congrats to all the lads involved, it was a long drawn out campaign and anything that was asked of them by the management (be it training, positional changes or tactical substitutions) they always performed admirably and a credit to the club to see young lads coming through who strive harder to win.
A week later the lads thrilled us for an hour in a narrow defeat in the B Championship against Newtown. Dylan Delamere was a busy brave goalie. 12 year old Niall Gaffney was coolness itself at corner back. Midfielders John Kavanagh and Rory Byrne were brilliant with Rory scoring a goal near the end that would’ve graced Croke Park. All 15 kept going to the final whistle and others to catch the eye were Jake Power, Gavin Fogarty and Joe McLaughlin. Special thanks to Paul , Declan and their team who looked after the U-14 team and have brought them on hugely.
Boys Go Games
Our under 8s and 10s once again put it up to Bray, Eire Og and St. Pats last Friday in the Go games in Bray. Some of the lads to stand out were Jake Brady, Lorcan Smith , Ben Staunton, Luke Mckenna , Cameron Brady, Josh Healy , Eanna Nolan and Conor McGuirk. Well done to all.
There was a small incident at these games that showed the GAA at its best. The St Pats teams were being run by Co stars Padge McWalter and Paul Earls a week after their defeat to Rathnew. However better still Paul’s mother Carmel (with no direct interest in the players ) was there doing the team-sheets etc. Brilliant stuff.

Wedding Bells
The Club wishes Des Fanning and Anne King the very best for the wedding this Friday and for the future together. Another An Tóchar – Kilmacanogue wedding, they have become very popular the last few years with many of these unions producing footballers, no pressure Anne and Deso.
